Play it Safe

As a new school year begins, make sure your children:

• Wear seat belts in the car and helmets when riding bikes.
• Memorize key phone numbers, especially since cell phones dial them for you!
• Carefully cross intersections, watching for cars and buses and not darting into the street.
• Walk a safe route to school and to the bus stop. Try a practice trip with them before school starts and look for safety hazards along the way.
• Never climb power poles and always stay clear of downed power lines!

York Electric Cooperative offers free safety demonstrations at schools throughout our service area in an effort to teach important electrical safety lessons to students.
