Report a Member’s Death
Losing a loved one is difficult, and we understand the headaches that come with paperwork, banking, and all manner of account closures make matters even worse. YEC extends our sincerest condolences, and we’re here to assist with proper handling and transition of the account
Membership is terminated upon the death of a member. However, if electric service will continue at the same address, the new responsible party must establish new membership/account, and joint memberships will initially become an individual membership.
How to Notify Us
- Complete the online notification form below.
- Visit our office.
- Call us to have our Member Service Representatives assist you.
A death certificate or certificate of appointment is required to close the account.
Once the account is closed, eligible capital credits will be issued.
