Welcome to York Electric Cooperative (YEC), a member-owned electric utility. We are excited you are joining more than 60,000 of your friends, co-workers, neighbors and business owners and we look forward to serving you. For your convenience, we’ve created this section on our website to help you learn more about your Cooperative.
YEC provides dependable and affordable electric service and we offer an array of programs and services designed to benefit our members and demonstrate our commitment to the community. One of YEC’s programs is the Co-op Connections card. The card entitles co-op members to discounts at dozens of local businesses (including pharmacies) and hundreds of businesses nationwide. Your card was enclosed in the “Welcome” brochure you recently received in the mail. For a list of participating businesses, we encourage you to continue to visit YEC’s website and do so often because new discounts are added frequently.
We also invite you to exercise your rights as a member at YEC’s Annual Membership Meeting in May where you will vote on business matters and elect Trustees. Plus, you’ll enjoy the festivities and might be a lucky winner of a door prize. You will be notified of the Annual Meeting through the South Carolina Living magazine which you will receive monthly.
Many resources pertaining to YEC can be found by surfing through our website. The Owner’s Manual, Bylaws, Terms and Conditions for providing electric service, and other information that you may find relevant is made available to you. I would also like to encourage you to take the time to sign-up to receive our e-newsletter so we will be able to keep you informed of current YEC news. Of course, we welcome your questions and comments as you become acclimated to the Cooperative. Please feel free to call us at any time for any information you might need.
