The cooperatives operate according to a core set of principles. Exemplifying these seven values, along with investing in our youth, are just a couple of the many things that separate us from other electric utilities.

Seven Cooperative PrinciplesWe have had some exciting activities happening with our youth. In March, we selected our representatives for the Washington Youth Tour. We are so proud to have such bright students be part of our co-op. In June, these two students had the opportunity to visit our nation’s capital to learn more about our country’s history, government and the cooperatives. In March, we also hosted our second Electrical Safety Magic Show for several elementary schools in our community, and in April we held a Gear Up for safety coloring contest for our youngest members, 12 years and under.

Olivia Reed of York Comprehensive High School is this year’s recipient of the School-to-Work Scholarship. And, currently we are in the process of selecting the recipients of the $1,000 Touchstone Energy Senior Scholarships, and we will announce the winners in the August edition of South Carolina Living.
