Electric distribution poles don’t pop out of small suitcases, unless they belong to someone like magician Scott Davis. Davis, creator of the “Making Accidents Disappear” electrical safety show, uses props like poles and talking electric switches to teach elementary students valuable lessons to keep them safe around electricity.
Davis brought his magic act to 235 second graders at Crowders Creek and Cotton Belt elementary schools on March 19. Students were energetic to learn about electrical safety by participating in the humorous magic show presented by Davis.
“We put a lot of energy into educating the public about electricity,” says Marc Howie, YEC’s vice president of community development. “We regularly offer safety demonstrations to students and other groups throughout our service area in an effort to teach important safety lessons to the participants.”
