  1. Rocky Roberts and his pal Peaches were back again, among the early arrivals for the 2014 YEC Annual Meeting of Members.
  2. Zale Hart, almost 2, proves he is a “Dirt Expert,” playing in the sand with recycled laundry detergent caps at the York County Solid Waste Collection and Recycling Department’s table.
  3. Phoebe Nance, 5, and sister Lenna, 3, color with recycled crayons as Leslie Hatchell from the Recycling Department helps. They were also good at the cornhole game, tossing small packets of recycled items of varying weights.
  4. York Comprehensive High School students in the JROTC program made hotdogs by the hundreds – and some, like Katt Riley, left, conducted taste tests to ensure a quality product.
  5. Abduh-Rahman Barton, 18 months, with his mom Aminah Barton and grandmother, Nancy Nelson.
  6. Angel Milem saw a funnel cake and decided she just had to have one!
  7. Reid Scott, 10, is in full flight on the slide.
  8. Nathan Davidson, 8, dives through the inflatable obstacle course.

  11. Ivan Byars enjoys his hotdog.
  12. Bobby Simmons (foreground) was one of many YEC members who signed cards asking the federal Environmental Protection Agency not to take steps that could drastically raise power bills.
  13. Leon Martin has his Boston terrier, Harley, 8 months, in training, he says, to ride with him on his motorcycle.
  14. Caroline Andrychowski checked out the Chevy Volt plug-in electric car. She liked it but the Prius driver says she plans to buy a Tesla.
  15. Brianna Carter, 16, was on Snapchat while she walked around with her sister, Lacie Hill, 9.
  16. There was a lot to see for Boone, a yellow Lab, who came with Steve Tremount.
  17. The meeting’s a good place to catch up with friends and neighbors. Here’s Robert L. Wilks (left) with his brother-in-law, James Kennon.
  18. Adrion Crawford, 4, enjoyed some ice cream.
  19. Rebecca Anderson (left) leaned against the bay door to enjoy the view – unaware that we were watching her people-watch from the other side!
  20. The Carolina Rhythm Band entertained.
  21. When are Kansas and Savanna in the same place? When it’s time to dance at YEC! That’s Kansas Norris, 3, (left) with Savanna Stewart, 4.
  22. Henderson Borders, a WWII veteran who went on the first cooperative-sponsored Honor Flight in 2012, was the oldest member at the meeting – he’s 93.
  23. Destiny and Chris Bolin were the newest newlyweds at the meeting. They’d only been married a few weeks at the time of the meeting.
  24. As the business portion of the meeting gets under way, state Sen. Wes Hayes gives the benediction.
  25. YEC employee Shari Propst sings a beautiful “God Bless America.”
  26. U.S. Rep. Mick Mulvaney presents a copy of the congressional resolution that named March 31, 2014 National Lineman Appreciation Day to YEC’s Larry Sanders, representing all co-op lineworkers.
  27. Operation Round Up trust board Chairman Dale Poston urges members to support the program, which benefits local people in need and worthwhile local causes.
