Over 3,000 members registered and an estimated crowd of 8,000 enjoyed YEC’s 73rd Annual Meeting.

- Bobby Simmons (foreground) was one of many YEC members who signed cards asking the federal Environmental Protection Agency not to take steps that could drastically raise power bills.
- Leon Martin has his Boston terrier, Harley, 8 months, in training, he says, to ride with him on his motorcycle.
- Caroline Andrychowski checked out the Chevy Volt plug-in electric car. She liked it but the Prius driver says she plans to buy a Tesla.
- Brianna Carter, 16, was on Snapchat while she walked around with her sister, Lacie Hill, 9.
- There was a lot to see for Boone, a yellow Lab, who came with Steve Tremount.

- Adrion Crawford, 4, enjoyed some ice cream.
- Rebecca Anderson (left) leaned against the bay door to enjoy the view – unaware that we were watching her people-watch from the other side!

- Henderson Borders, a WWII veteran who went on the first cooperative-sponsored Honor Flight in 2012, was the oldest member at the meeting – he’s 93.
- Destiny and Chris Bolin were the newest newlyweds at the meeting. They’d only been married a few weeks at the time of the meeting.
- As the business portion of the meeting gets under way, state Sen. Wes Hayes gives the benediction.
- YEC employee Shari Propst sings a beautiful “God Bless America.”
- U.S. Rep. Mick Mulvaney presents a copy of the congressional resolution that named March 31, 2014 National Lineman Appreciation Day to YEC’s Larry Sanders, representing all co-op lineworkers.
- Operation Round Up trust board Chairman Dale Poston urges members to support the program, which benefits local people in need and worthwhile local causes.
- Tess Bolding, 11, has all the power as she draws tickets for the prizes.
- With a full-house, the crowd listens closely for their number to be called.
- This young had the best seat in the house.
- Among the winners was Phil Gaston, with his son, Bradley, 5.
- Martha J. Keith wins a Kindle Fire HD.
- E.L. Ellis wins a K-Cup single-serving coffee maker.
- Terry Cook Jr., with his son, Collin, 3, and the grand-prize truck Terry won.
- Martin Starks Jr. won the John Deere riding mower and promptly gave it to his mama, Novis Walker, as a Mother’s Day gift. And, Martin said, he’ll still cut her grass for her! Sweet.
